Artist Statement:

When I paint, I work to convey not only what I see, but the inner feeling the subject evokes in me. I am fascinated with light as it defines form in nuanced ways. As light changes, it reveals different aspects of the world around us that we might not have noticed at first glance. Each object, landscape or seascape that I paint has a special meaning to me, always in the context of the atmosphere surrounding a moment in time. Many of my paintings explore this theme in the first light of dawn, a time of new beginning and hope.
